Athens, Seminar 'Exploitation of Research Results in Athens'

The dissemination of knowledge and information is a key issue in publicly financed research. Additionally, the protection of the intellectual property (IP) of public scientific institutions and the commercial exploitation of IP and know how receives increasing attention. By taking into account the importance of exploitation of research results in Greece, National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF), with the support of KiNNO Consultants LTD. organized a seminar dedicated to the exploitation of research results, which was held in Athens, Greece, on the 10th of December 2010 within the framework of the European project “MET3 – Mediterranean Transnational Technology Transfer”.

The Exploitation Seminar was addressed mainly to NHRF researchers, but also to researchers from other Research Centers and Universities and aimed at combining theory and action in an area very important for research activities: Exploitation of Research results and Technology Transfer. The participants were given an insight into basic concepts of Technology Transfer, the different stages of innovation & TT processes as well as technology requests and offers tips, patent information and commercialization and business aspects, by Mr. Yiannis Geragotellis, Innovation Expert & Managing Director of KiNNO Consultants LTD.

Furthermore, the participants had the opportunity to be informed regarding the basic concepts regarding Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer, as well as, a specialized IP and FP7 section regarding background management, foreground and joint ownership and exploitation of foreground.
