Rhodes Island, 'Press and Opinion Makers Incoming Tour'

Within the framework of the European project “INNOVATE-MED - Innovative Actions for Trade and Enterprise in the Mediterranean” the “Press and opinion Makers incoming Tour” was held in Rhodes Island, on the 9th of October 2010, with the support of KiNNO Consultants Ltd. with the aim to raise awareness to press and opinion makers regarding the local craft tradition and local jewellery manufacturing.

The Tour included visits to local jewellery workshops and the Museum of Jewellery Manufacturing in the Dodecanese which gave the opportunity to press and opinion makers from Rhodes and abroad with long term expertise in the handcraft, fashion and jewellery sector, to explore the famous Dodecanese Craft Tradition and be informed about the current status of the sector, its economic activity and the challenges and the opportunities posed by globalization and the international competition. Additionally, the participants had the unique opportunity to experience the creation of a handmade jewel while KiNNO Consultants Ltd. informed the owners of the Workshops about the funding opportunities that will allow them to expand their businesses.
