Lima-Perú, Developing Business Models for ICT for growth

 

KiNNO Consultants Ltd. attended the Kick-off meeting of the project “TUCAN3G - Wireless technologies for isolated rural communities in developing countries based on cellular 3G femtocell deployments” that was held by Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú at Lima, Perú, from 11th to 15th of February.

TUCAN3G together with its 11 partners aims on bringing Telecommunication solutions to rural communities in Peru, Colombia and other rural areas of developing countries. During the Meeting the specific role and tasks of each partner had been discussed. Moreover, the partners visited rural villages on Napo river, in Amazonia, in order to assess the actual needs of the population. The meeting and the visits attended key actors in the field such as Universities, technology providers and business operators from Perú, Spain, Colombia, United Kingdom and Greece.

To this end experiencing new culture and habits, KiNNO (in collaboration with other project partners) will develop a suitable and feasible Business Model that will help people habiting these areas in their everyday life as well as strengthen the implementation of new business activities through the adoption of wireless technologies.
